In 2007 Admiral Parkway invested more than $10 million in the construction of a 200,000 square foot refrigerated warehouse at Rock City. Operated by Mid America cold Storage, LLC, this cold storage are includes temperature-controlled freezer and refrigeration space that is available to food an other companies for their cold storage needs.

Flexible to meet your needs – rock City offers freezer and refrigerator space with temperatures ranging from 28 to –15 degrees Fahrenheit, meeting the needs of a wide range of food processors, suppliers and distributors, from ice cream and meat companies to ingredient and packaged food manufacturers.

Lower utilities costs – Because the ambient temperature at Rock City fluctuates between 53 and 58 degrees year round, our cooling and heating costs are up tot 40% lower than traditional cold storage warehouses.

Dependability in any situation – In addition, the rock pillars, ceilings and floors will maintain temperatures for many days in the event of a power failure.

In April 2008, construction began for storage of records for The National Archives and Records Administration. This federal agency chose Rock City due to its low occupancy cost and constant temperatures; making rock City an ideal space for records to be stored.

This project was completed in only seven months and occupies nearly 500,000 square feet.

At a cost of approximately $25 million, this facility will safely sand securely store about 2 million boxes of records.
